Sheen managed to get the world, amid revolutions in Libya and Egypt, near revolutions in Iran, Bahrain, Jordon and Saudi Arabia as well riots in Wisconsin, US federal budget deficit of $1 trillion plus and monumental national debt woes, to so focus on Sheen having "tiger blood" nurishing his "Adonis DNA" which surely empowers him to be the only "Vatican Assassin Warlock" who "parties like a bitchin' rock-star" with "Goddesses" to such a degree that Sheen is "winning" not only the war of words between himself and the producer of the hit sit-com, Two and a Half Men but enabled Sheen to become the first person, in the history of Twitter to acquire one million followers in 25 hours on Sheen's Twitter account.

Countless, so-called, mental health-care professionals, who have never personally met Sheen, have taken it upon themselves to diagnose Sheen as suffering from various mental illnesses ranging from suffering a manic stage due to sever bipolar disorder, narcissistic personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder as well as proclaiming Sheen being under the influence of illicit drugs, in spite of the fact that Sheen has passed both blood and urine drug tests.

Oddly, none of the people readily affixing the label of "troubled actor" to Sheen have given much thought to the fact that Sheen may be crazy like a fox and while getting back at Chuck Lorre for being a douchbag has punked the vast majority of the world's media. There is every likelihood that Sheen has accomplished what Joaquin Phoenix attempted and failed to accomplish. One thing is certain, Sheen still has an estimated worth of $85 million dollars and approximately $20 million a year, for the next decade, in residuals from Two and a Half Men. Whether you think Sheen is street-rat-crazy or just punking the world you have to admit, Sheen is vastly more interesting as a train wreck than he ever was as just another overpaid semi-talented sit-com actor.

Evidently, Taylor's ex-boyfriend didn't work for the 5 years they were together so all the things she is selling is merchandise she purchased for him while they were shacked-up, together and he abandoned when she kicked him to the curb and changed the locks on their abode.

For the past several decades, scientists, politicians, fiction authors and, seemingly, everyone with an opinion have made dire predictions foretelling the cataclismic destruction of the world, as we know it, because humans are, by merely inhabiting Earth, responsible for destroying the atmosphere and weather of Earth.

What has amounted to being nothing but crack-pot premonitions would be laughable if so many people, in powerful positions, didn't take seriously the delusional predictions of people claiming to know the future. Perhaps, it should become a rule, if a scientist makes a loony prediction that fails to materialize that scientist is kicked out of the Science Club, forever.

1. Within a few years "children just aren't going to know what snow is." Snowfall will be "a very rare and exciting event." Dr. David Viner, senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, interviewed by the UK Independent, March 20, 2000.

Don't forget, Raleigh, NC just had the first white Christmas since 1881 and children are, today, throwing snowballs in Flagstaff, AZ.

2. "[By] 1995, the greenhouse effect would be desolating the heartlands of North America and Eurasia with horrific drought, causing crop failures and food riots…[By 1996] The Platte River of Nebraska would be dry, while a continent-wide black blizzard of prairie topsoil will stop traffic on interstates, strip paint from houses and shut down computers." The closest thing to a food riot the US has seen is Michelle Obama waging war against fat kids.

According to a LifeWay Research survey, nine in 10 Americans (91 percent) personally celebrate Christmas but only 37% cite Jesus as the reason for the season. A majority of agnostics or those claiming no preference (89 percent), individuals claiming other religions (62 percent), and even atheists (55 percent) celebrate Christmas along with 97 percent of Christians.

For centuries, numerous civilizations have designated the mid-winter season as the time for friends and family to gather to feast and exchange gifts. Based on the findings of the LifeWay survey that tradition is continued by the 97% who cite being with family, celebrating, giving and sharing as reasons for the season.

Even though apocryphal evidence indicates, Jesus was born in the spring. Shepherds, herd in the spring, not winter, and the Egyptian and Roman governments conducted their annual tax census in the spring which is why Mary and Joseph were required to return to Joseph's village, even though Mary was very late in her pregnancy. However, sometime around 338 ACE, Pope Julius I chose December 25 as the birth date of Jesus to take advantage of the mid-winter celebrations that had, for centuries, been a part of civilization.

Christmas was not a holiday in early America. From 1659 to 1681, the celebration of Christmas was actually outlawed in Boston. Anyone exhibiting the Christmas spirit was fined five shillings. By contrast, in the Jamestown settlement, Captain John Smith reported that Christmas was enjoyed by all and passed without incident.

After the American Revolution, English customs fell out of favor, including Christmas. In fact, Congress was in session on December 25, 1789, the first Christmas under America's new constitution. Christmas wasn't declared a federal holiday until June 26, 1870.

The point of the matter is, regardless of what your reason is for celebrating The Season, make it a meaningful season for you and those you love. If rejoicing in the Winter Solstice is your reason, then remember and care for nature throughout the year. If Hanukkah is your reason for The Season then focus on the the festival of lights and share it with your family. If Jesus is your reason, then make it about Jesus and step away from the retail Santa. If embracing the retail Santa, by giving and sharing with family and friends, is your reason for celebrating the season, make certain to celebrate within reason so you don't suffer financial damage for the rest of the year. If recommitting to family and community and celebrating Kwanzaa is your reason for The Season, then remember your pledge throughout the year. I urge all people, who celebrate The Season, to remember those less fortunate and give to someone you don't know as though they were someone you do know. Just one time, give as much to a random stranger, in need, as you would a family member or friend and then you will have a new perspective on The Season. Keep in mind, the reason for The Season is not to be divisive and to ostracize other people who do not share your Reason for The Season.

The top $100, in the photo, is the new hi-tech style that is so counterfeit proof, it can't even be printed by the U.S. government. It seems the new $100 note is so hi-tech that the printing presses at the US Bureau of Engraving & Printing in Ft. Worth can't, consistently, correctly print the new $100 note. The problem wasn't discovered until after more than 1 billion of them had been misprinted. That means more than $100,000,000,000/10 percent of all existing U.S. cash has been quarantined in a vault in Fort Worth, Texas. To even make it a bigger cluster screwing, properly printed $100s are mixed in with the misprinted notes. The good news is that it will only take a year to have machines sort through the newly printed $100s and find the flawed bills. Without the machinery it would take 20-30 years.

You know the U.S. government is doomed when it can no longer correctly print it's own funny money.

If you have somewhere in the range of 500-3,000 friends, Kimmel's right, you need to get to work and do some serious unfriending.

Even though Obama's aunt has never paid a dime into the system, she currently receives $700 per month in disability benefits. Upon claiming, since her nephew is POTUS, her life would be in danger if she returned to Kenya she has now been granted asylum. Rather than be grateful, for being granted asylum, Obama's aunt declared that the US is obligated to make her a citizen. Obviously, arrogance is a genetic trait in the Obama clan.

Even you ObamaZombies have to realize you're a bunch of dumb asses for buying Obama's load of horseshit and being duped into paying for your millionaire POTUS's aunt to suck up benefits paid for by hardworking Americans.

Since Obama's aunt is a lifelong Muslim, her comment, in an interview with WBZ-TV, in which she invoked the philosophy of WWJD is nothing short of a double dose of insanity.

"This country is owned by almighty God," she said in her first interview since being granted asylum in May. "You people who preach Jesus Christ, almighty God, and the rest of it, you are here to help people, help the poor, help other countries and help women. That's what the United States is supposed to do."

Edit: As of 14:00, Sept. 2, 2010, NASA estimates hurricane-force winds of 73+ mph to reach 90 miles from the center of Hurricane Earl and tropical storm winds of 55-72 mph extend more than 230 miles making Earl approximately 500 miles in diameter.

There's nothing wrong with a rich guy owning a yacht. The problem with the rich guy who owns the yacht is that he's Sen. John Kerry, the mastermind leading the charge for Cap and Tax Legislation and higher taxes for working people who make more than $250,000 annually, and he's docking his new $7,000,000 playtoy in Rhode Island to avoid paying $437,500 in one-time sales tax and $70,000 in annual excise taxes he'd owe if he docked it in his home state of Massachusetts. Keep in mind, Massachusetts, like most other states, has been grappling with plunging tax revenues. Last year's budget deficit was $600 million, and officials are bracing for a $1 billion deficit this year. I'd bet that $507,500 in taxes Kerry avoided paying would've come in mighty handy and saved a few jobs in Massachusetts.

Just another case of a politician who believes taxes and laws are for the small people (you and me) but not them.

Rode The Train All The Way To Crazytown

That's not really me but I'm sure I've looked like that during the past 2 weeks. Just to let you in on the circus that's been my life let me dig through the bag of shit that's been my life and share with you what I've dealt with since I last blogged.

1. Not all my friends have spawned the brightest offspring resulting in a friend's 15-year-old son being responsible for burning down their 5 year old, 6,000+ square foot home on July 7th. If you guessed the little dipshit and his two friends were playing with bottle rockets, 30 feet from the house even though the house sits on 15 acres with a 5 acre pasture, while his mom and dad were at the movies and he didn't notice that the rocket he thought was a "dud" shot through an upstairs window and into the master bedroom setting fire to the house, then you'd be right. The kid didn't notice the house was on fire until he turned around to go into the house and saw the smoke and flames. For 3 days in nearly 100 degree heat my spouse and several other friends helped search through the rubble for something worth saving. Y'all have no idea how painful it is to help friends dig through the charred remains of 25 years of their life in the hope of finding anything worth saving and seeing their heartbreak when they realize, everything they've worked for, including a fully restored 1968 Porsche 912 Targa, is gone because their child is an ungrateful, spoiled brat. No shit, I heard the kid repeat, 4-5 times, "I didn't know that would happen. It was a freak accident, it wasn't my fault." I finally, on the 2nd day, told him to "shut the hell up or I'll slap you." His father thanked me. For some insane reason, the kid's mother doesn't want to "further traumatize" the little dipshit, so no one has beat the hell out of him or bitched at him for burning down the family home.

2. The lady of the house, here at my slanty shanty, wasn't happy with having her recently redecorated office upstairs and decided she wanted to office out of the shoebox sized office downstairs. You guessed it, that meant, I had to pull out carpet and install slate tile along with paint the walls and move furniture. The worst part was the 2 hours at the paint sample display and the 2 attempts at getting the right color. That little joy of a job took 4 days but the lady is happy and that's all that matters, right?

3. My spouse and I got jacked around by the Iceland Volcano and didn't get to go on vacation last April so we decided to go now, when everyone else in the freakin' world is on vacation. About 3/4 of the way to the airport, I mentioned how nice it was that my spouse's BFF would be watching our big dog while we're gone and that it was really a help they were picking the dog up from the house. No sooner had I said those words I hear this really softly whispered, slightly panicky, "Oh, shit." You and I both know, that means, yours truly is screwed. Oh yeah! The spouse, somehow, during the course of 2 weeks of planning, failed to give their BFF a key to our slanty shanty. Of course that means we, and by we I mean ME, had to figure a way to get the key to the BFF and still make our flight. Having waded through this type of bullshit, for the past 20+ years, I've developed MacGyver-like problem solving skills. Yeah, some people call it Jerry Rigging. I came up with the brilliant idea of leaving a front door key with a Realtor in Southlake so that BFF could get the key from them. It worked, BFF got the key and the dog didn't die in the house. Spouse lives another week.

4. You'd think everything would be great being on vacation, right. Think again, this is my life we're talking about. Due to the fact, when we go on vacation, my beloved spouse packs more shit than Ringling Brothers so in the interest of avoiding divorce, we've always packed separate suitcases. You guessed it, all 3 of my spouse's suitcases made it to our destination. My one, mother effing, suitcase was lost for the first 3 days of vacation. There is some good news, I'm still on vacation and have my suitcase.

Thanks for letting me bend your ear about the craziness that's been my life. One of the things that makes my life so great is that it's filled with wonderful people who'll always be there to drive me to Crazytown.

I'll be on vacation for awhile so there's a chance I wont be doing too much blogging.

Independence Weekend Wrap-up

The Propagandist Clan had a great July 4th weekend. All weekend we ate fantastic food, saw awesome professional fireworks at other people's haciendas and unlike a dumbass in Islip Terrace, on Long Island, New York, didn't lose any fingers or arms. I just have to ask, who the hell messes with fireworks that pack a blast stout enough to blow off an arm?

I hope y'all are good with the phone camera picture of the local fireworks since the only pictures I'm allowed to post, of my weekend, are of non humans. I've come to the conclusion, my friends aren't in Witness Protection, they've been featured on America's Most Wanted which means they're not kidding when they tell me that they'll kill me if a picture of them ever turns up on my blog.

I hope all y'all had a great weekend celebrating the birth of our nation and being grateful for all the sacrifices made by countless folks who've done what it takes to make the US great.

McChrystal was, as a command officer, wrong, to the point of insubordination for offering an opinion, regardless of its accuracy, about his superiors. What McChrystal did was tantamount to a "Fuck you very much, I quit" resignation. It's a sad day for the US for a warrior and man of honor like Gen. McChrystal to be leaving the Obama camp because Gen. McChrystal is the last honest man associated with the Obama Administration.

After rethinking the comments made to Rolling Stone Magazine and several cold stares Gen. McChrystal offered an apology, of sorts, for having made the comments but nowhere in his apology did McChrystal say any of the things he said were incorrect.

"I extend my sincerest apology for this profile. It was a mistake reflecting poor judgment and should never have happened. Throughout my career, I have lived by the principles of personal honor and professional integrity. What is reflected in this article falls far short of that standard. From the looks of the American flag, at the entrance of Trophy Club, the high tone community has fallen on hard times or taken enemy fire from the other high tone community in that neck of the woods, Colleyville.

I can't believe there isn't one Eagle Scout in that entire community willing to inform the powers that be of the respectful way to display an American Flag.

Flag Etiquette

STANDARDS of RESPECT

The Flag Code, which formalizes and unifies the traditional ways in which we give respect to the flag, also contains specific instructions on how the flag is not to be used. They are:

The flag should never be dipped to any person or thing. It is flown upside down only as a distress signal.
The flag should not be used as a drapery, or for covering a speakers desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general. Bunting of blue, white and red stripes is available for these purposes. The blue stripe of the bunting should be on the top.
The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard
The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman and members of patriotic organizations.
The flag should never have placed on it, or attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind.
The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.

When the flag is lowered, no part of it should touch the ground or any other object; it should be received by waiting hands and arms. To store the flag it should be folded neatly and ceremoniously.

The flag should be cleaned and mended when necessary.

When a flag is so worn it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of our country, it should be destroyed by burning in a dignified manner.

Note: Most American Legion Posts regularly conduct a dignified flag burning ceremony, often on Flag Day, June 14th. Many Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, and Girl Scout Troops retire flags regularly as well. Contact your local American Legion Hall or Scout Troop to inquire about the availability of this service.

Displaying the Flag Outdoors

When the flag is displayed from a staff projecting from a window, balcony, or a building, the union should be at the peak of the staff unless the flag is at half staff.

When it is displayed from the same flagpole with another flag - of a state, community, society or Scout unit - the flag of the United States must always be at the top except that the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for Navy personnel when conducted by a Naval chaplain on a ship at sea.

When the flag is displayed over a street, it should be hung vertically, with the union to the north or east. If the flag is suspended over a sidewalk, the flag's union should be farthest from the building.

When flown with flags of states, communities, or societies on separate flag poles which are of the same height and in a straight line, the flag of the United States is always placed in the position of honor - to its own right.
..The other flags may be smaller but none may be larger.
..No other flag ever should be placed above it.
..The flag of the United States is always the first flag raised and the last to be lowered.

When flown with the national banner of other countries, each flag must be displayed from a separate pole of the same height. Each flag should be the same size. They should be raised and lowered simultaneously. The flag of one nation may not be displayed above that of another nation.

Raising and Lowering the Flag

The flag should be raised briskly and lowered slowly and ceremoniously. Ordinarily it should be displayed only between sunrise and sunset. It should be illuminated if displayed at night.
The flag of the United States of America is saluted as it is hoisted and lowered. The salute is held until the flag is unsnapped from the halyard or through the last note of music, whichever is the longest.

Displaying the Flag Indoors

When on display, the flag is accorded the place of honor, always positioned to its own right. Place it to the right of the speaker or staging area or sanctuary. Other flags should be to the left.

The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of states, localities, or societies are grouped for display.

When one flag is used with the flag of the United States of America and the staffs are crossed, the flag of the United States is placed on its own right with its staff in front of the other flag.

When displaying the flag against a wall, vertically or horizontally, the flag's union (stars) should be at the top, to the flag's own right, and to the observer's left.

Parading and Saluting the Flag

When carried in a procession, the flag should be to the right of the marchers. When other flags are carried, the flag of the United States may be centered in front of the others or carried to their right. When the flag passes in a procession, or when it is hoisted or lowered, all should face the flag and salute.

The Salute To salute, all persons come to attention. Those in uniform give the appropriate formal salute. Citizens not in uniform salute by placing their right hand over the heart and men with head cover should remove it and hold it to left shoulder, hand over the heart. Members of organizations in formation salute upon command of the person in charge.

The Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem

The pledge of allegiance should be rendered by standing at attention, facing the flag, and saluting.
When the national anthem is played or sung, citizens should stand at attention and salute at the first note and hold the salute through the last note. The salute is directed to the flag, if displayed, otherwise to the music.

The Flag in Mourning

To place the flag at half staff, hoist it to the peak for an instant and lower it to a position half way between the top and bottom of the staff. The flag is to be raised again to the peak for a moment before it is lowered. On Memorial Day the flag is displayed at half staff until noon and at full staff from noon to sunset.

The flag is to be flown at half staff in mourning for designated, principal government leaders and upon presidential or gubernatorial order.

When used to cover a casket, the flag should be placed with the union at the head and over the left shoulder. It should not be lowered into the grave.

U.S. Lawmakers Encourage Illegal Aliens

I'm the first one to say, the U.S. desperately needs the workforce and economy provided by illegal aliens. I'm also the first to say it's deplorable that lawmakers have done nothing to resolve the plight and blight of illegal aliens in the U.S.

I'm not going to even get into the politics of why self-serving legislatures act like there are only two ways to resolve the illegal alien crisis facing the United States. Congress believes the only two ways to resolve the plight of illegal aliens is to grant amnesty or do nothing. Of course, it's never crossed the minds of lawmakers that a significant portion of the illegal alien population doesn't want to learn English, learn U.S. history and culture and pay taxes to become U.S. citizens, and those illegals only want to work in the U.S. and send money home. Of course U.S. lawmakers wont ever consider instituting a viable guest worker's program for all currently employed illegal aliens even though it would be both humane and beneficial to the U.S. because, guest workers can't vote. Damn't, there I go, getting into the politics of why self-serving legislatures haven't done anything to resolve the illegal alien situation in the U.S.

For all you bleeding heart types who think it's wrong to use the term illegal alien rather than illegal immigrant; here's a civics lesson for you. "Alien" is the term used for any foreign national. "Immigrant" is the term used for a foreign national/alien who has gone through the process of legally entering the U.S., going through that nation's procedure for acquiring and maintaining legal permission to remain in the U.S.

An illegal alien is foreign national who has entered the United States without legal permission, or who entered the U.S. legally but has since fallen out of status. An illegal alien is deportable if apprehended.

If you don't think people will die in line waiting for necessary health care just take a look at what's going on in Canada where the Canadian government offers tips on how to wait months for care, United Kingdom where the government brags about an 18 week wait being the acceptable length wait for treatment and France with among the most costly health care costs and yet require up to a 40% patient co-pay for care and 92% of people on public health with a supplemental health insurance policy for which they personally pay on top of their 60% income taxes. Name me one public care program the U.S. government has ever undertaken that has provided better services for the public than the public can provide for themselves?

Government Knows What's Best For You
Massachusetts has, although bankrupting the state, mandatory public health care that is forcing individuals who had private health care, prior to public health care, to have no option but to sign up for public health care.

Higher Taxes For Everyone
It seems that since more and more taxpayers are realizing it's not just going to be up to the rich to pay higher taxes to cover the cost of paying for public health care, more and more taxpayers are saying "Hell No!" to public health care. What the Hell is wrong with people who think they have the right to force someone to pay for something that they themselves are unwilling to pay for? The soak the rich mentality, fostered by democrats, is immoral.

Paying For Health Care

Outer Space
Space travel and outer space living isn't for me. I just couldn't stand being cooped up in a tiny space ship or space station for any amount of time. I'd hate not being able to golf or go to the beach.

Shopping Observations
I've been to Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Staples during the past week. People in Target and Wal-Mart were only buying food and only a few folks had sodas and snacks. I had to go to both places to try to buy fresh Italian Parsley and Wal-Mart heavy cream. Best Buy and Staples were nearly deserted and both places had only one checker and she wasn't busy. I bought my new Western Digital 1T external hard drive, on sale, at Staples. I was the only person to make a purchase in 30 minutes. Democrats taking more money out of the pockets of working folks and putting it into government programs is not going to help the retail industry in the U.S. Consumerism accounts for 80% of the U.S. economy. Yep! We're doomed.

Electricity
We lost power at 06:45 for about 15 minutes at mi casa this a.m. around. My spouse comes running out to the pool to tell me we had lost power. I asked, did you call the electric company to let them know about the outage. Spouse responded "I came out to tell you so you can call them because you're the one who always calls the electric company when we lose power, besides I don't know the name or number of the electric company." That exchange made me realize, my spouse would be completely screwed without me and I'm totally irreplacable. Win for me.

Home Modification
I can't call what I'm doing improvement. I've spent 5 hours of my life removing a perfectly good 9.5" deep double basin, 22" x 33" white, cast iron sink that weighs a mere 11 thousand pounds that had a single chip on the basin divider and a white Delta spigot sprayer faucet with a broken hose with a hose replacement cost of $101.86. I replaced the aforementioned sink combo with a new $327.00 white, Moen spigot sprayer faucet without a broken hose that was on sale for $123.00 at a Going Out Of Business Sale at a plumbing supply company. My spouse was with me and noticed that the new and improved version of our Kohler sink had a lower basin divider without a chip and the sink was on sale for $72.00. Oh, there was one other thing. The new sink has 9" deep basins. You do realize a 1/2 inch makes a lot of difference when it comes to under sink plumbing. You guessed it, all new PVC piping. It only took me two trips to the hardware store. The second trip was because all too late I discovered the 3/8 black waste tube from the reverse osmosis spigot was 1/2" too short to reach the sink drain.

One other modification Kohler made to the new sink is they made it weigh approximately twice as much as the old sink. Thank Heaven my non-plumber spouse was here to help with the lifting and tell me how to install the sink.

Another Fun Day In Pardise
I'm not sure if I went to Ft. Worth or Hell, yesterday. I'm not too worried about which direction I'm headed after I die. Since I go to Ft. Meteors Meet Earth
If you just didn't get enough lame, low budget, made for T.V. 4 hour long disaster movies in the 80's "Meteor" is the movie for you. There were more illconcieved sub-plots and bad science in "Meteor" than I've seen in the past 3 years of listening to Al Gore spew his BS about global warming and Michael Moore selling Cuban Health Care in the U.S. I did learn a few things while watching "Meteor." Stacy Keach still can't act and Hollywood has a new crop of no talent unemployed has been actors and wannabes. The acting is so bad that 1/2 way through the flick you'll end up rooting for the meteors. Another thing that never changes is that Hollywood doesn't know squat about science. If you have too much time on your hands or just want to waste 4 precious hours of your life go ahead and watch the first 1/2 of "Meteor" on Hulu. You'll have to wait until next Sunday to waste two more hours of your life and watch the last 1/2 of "Meteor."

The worst defense of the racist statements made by the Supreme Court nominee came from some Black, female, elitist liberal who said; "Judge Sotomayor only said 'a wise Latina would make a better judge than a white man' 5 times out of countless speeches and statements she's made throughout her career.'" The follow up question I wanted asked was; 'How many times would a white male get away with saying a wise white male would make a better judge than a black/hispanic woman.'? As long as one group of people, based on their sex and or race, have privelges that are denied to other groups, racism will be alive and thriving in the United States.

I had someone step into mi casa and the first thing out of there mouth was, "Is it cold enough in here? Do you have any idea how much damage you're doing to the environment by keeping your house this cold in the summer time." I told them they could bitch about me destroying the environment when they produced a single piece of irrefutable scientific data supporting anthropic global warming. Since they, more than likely, didn't know the meaning of "anthropic" they shut up and waited quietly for my spouse. When my spouse finally arrived their friend said, "It's really cold in here." News From The Grill
I made grilled romain lettuce 1/2s with a drizzle of olive oil dressed with a fabulous warm champagne/garlic/shallot/red pepper flake dressing. It was awesome, fantastic. The amazing thing is that I hate lettuce.

Back To Sweating
I've taken a long enough break from repairing the drip irrigation system in my flower beds that I may decide not to trap and torture the squirrels that bit through the little rubber hoses that feed off the big hose. Before any of you get your panties in a twist let me remind you that squirrels are tree rats with fluffy tails and my trapping and torturing them would be a service to humanity.

Running Of The Bulls 2009
For the fist time in 15 years some idiot was killed while running with the bulls in Pamplano, Spain. There're always injuries but, as far as I'm concerned, not nearly enough. Since the running with the bulls part of the San Fermin festival is the last fair fight the bulls have before they're killed in the bullfighting ring, I always root for the bulls.

I've noticed there are, typically, three type of bloggers. There's the Hot Topic Blogger who share their strong opinions and encourage commenters to voice their opinions, there's the Care-Bear Blogger who posts topics of interest to the Care-Bear and really doesn't want comments other than those that pander to the Care-Bear's ego, the third type of blogger is the Observational Blogger and makes observations about everything and really doesn't give a damn what people think about their observations but really likes to hear other people's observations on the topics.

Insane Heat
Yesterday, it reached 108 degrees at mi casa and was over 100 degrees for more than 10 hours. That's too freakin' hot but a heck of a lot cooler than the 115 degrees they had, yesterday, in Baghdad, Iraq. I can't imagine how hot it must be wearing long pants and sleeves, a helmet and more than 20 pounds of body armor while worrying about not getting killed. I think I'll stop bitching about the heat.

McNair gets himself murdered by the woman with whom he's cheating on his wife because he was cheating on the woman who murdered him. Former Major League baseball player Jim Leyritz sobbed in court because the judge decided Leyritz needed to spend the weekend in jail for beating his ex-wife. Leyritz was already out on bond pending the outcome of his 2007 DUI manslaughter case. Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Ronald Belisario was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. I don't know if it's the money or the fame but it sure does seem to me that pro athletes have a lot of issues.

Digging Up The Dead
It's really messed up what people do with dead bodies when they think no one will notice. Four people have been arrested for digging up and dumping the remains of more than 300 graves so they could resell the plots at Burr Oak Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois. Other than a couple of thousand years, is this really any different than digging up Egyptian mummies and selling tours through their crypts and tickets to see the remains?

Last night my spouse and I sat slack jawed watching a program on TLC called I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant. One of us has been pregnant and the other one has endured living with a crazy pregnant woman. One of us kept saying, "How could a woman be pregnant for 9 months and not know?" The other one of us, because of the mean, scary, you will die in your sleep, tonight looks that were being shot across the room, only said, once; "How could her spouse and friends not know she was a crazy pregnant woman for 9 months?" I'm not the type of person to name names so I'm not going to tell you which one of us has homicidal tendencies and which one of us doesn't want to risk dying in our sleep.

According to Obama and his Clueless Crew, the U.S. needs another stimulus plan since the first stimulus resulted in unemployment being 9.5% with the first stimulus rather than 8% without the first stimulus. Fat People
It's insane that people make excuses for being fat or claim that a couple being fat is a sign they're happy in their marriage. My spouse and I both weigh about 5-10 pounds less than we did when we got married and we weren't fat to start with and we're both happy as clams about being married to each other. The guy in the picture isn't fat because he's happily married, has birthed babies or has a genetic problem. He's fat because he sits on his ass and eats too much crap. Fat people will keep getting fatter until they stop making excuses for being fat and get off their asses and stop stuffing their face with crap. Hell, even Oprah is able to lose weight.

Disclaimer: When I use the term "fat" I'm talking about someone who sweats when they walk from the sofa to the T.V. and whose thighs, all the way down to their kneecaps, rub together when they walk. I'm talking the kind of fat that makes people have to buy clothing in a different section of the store than non fat people. I'm talking the kind of fat people that doctors label obese.

Last Night's T.V.
PBS has a great series with Neil deGrasse Tyson called NovaScienceNow. It's well worth the time.

The writing for Saving Grace has sucked this season.

Not only does the writing suck but the horrible acting makes it impossible to watch an entire episode of HawthoRNe. Jada Pinkett Smith is one of the worst actresses on television. I don't know if she got the job because she's married to Will or TNT needed a show with a Black female lead but the show needs to be canceled, fast.

Flying Assholes
There's no doubt, Blue Jays are the bastards of the bird world. They poop everywhere, they hog the birdbath and splash all the water out of the birdbath, they run off other birds and they're noisy. The only backyard birds who aren't afraid of blue jays are hummingbirds.

Summertime
Whats with folks starting off every conversation saying something about the heat. My new answer is: "No kidding it's hot that's why I'm sweating my ass off standing here listening to you bitch about it being hot in TEXAS during the summer."
